The main hairstylist of this store is extremely nice, she helped me out and gave me a great deal with **human bundles**. It feels amazing to buy from black store owners, and I’ll be happy to do it again.
I visited Yvonne’s to find a wig to replace my hair from chemo. I forgot the name of the dear woman that helped me. She was so helpful, informative, patient, and kind. She explained that many of the wigs are her own custom work, and that the wig I purchased can be used just like real hair. She made a very hard time, exciting and hopeful. Thank you. You’re a beautiful soul and I look forward to visiting again. 💐 I just saw a review from a Victoria about how Yvonne’s treats a certain race “differently”. Just wanted to say I’m as lily white as they come and I got a big hug before I left. Thinking it was definitely you Victoria. Don’t be an arshole and you might have a better experience.
I visited this salon the day before leaving for vacation to get crochet faux locs, spending over $200 for the style. Less than 24 hours later, the locs started unraveling, and while on vacation, multiple crochet locs completely fell out—embarrassing and unacceptable for a supposedly professional service. A week later, I contacted the shop owner to explain the situation. She told me to come back in so she could reinstall the locs. I returned on a Saturday morning, only to be told she doesn’t even do that style as she failed in attempting to reinstall them, something that should have been made clear beforehand instead of wasting my time. She then told me to come back a third time to see another stylist. When I arrived, the new stylist (Ola, who was kind and did her best) told me the original stylist used the wrong hair to wrap the locs, which is why they were falling out. The owner insisted I had to buy new Cuban kinky hair to have them fixed—claiming “it’s only $7.99” and if I wanted them done properly, I needed to buy it. I was extremely frustrated by this, especially since I bought the hair the original stylist told me to buy. This was not my mistake, but I paid for it—again—just so I could have my hair somewhat fixed before my birthday. During the reinstallation, I explained that my whole head needed to be redone because the locs were continuing to unravel. The owner, hovering and pressuring the stylist, dismissed this and told her to just reinstall the ones that had already fallen out. While Ola worked, she even discovered that one of my braids had been cut by the original stylist—another serious issue. Despite all of this, the owner was more focused on pushing me out of the chair because she had overbooked Ola, who had a 6pm client waiting. In the end, Ola was only able to reinstall around 9 locs. I was refunded some money, but the damage had already been done. Till this day two weeks later, locs are still falling out. I didn’t like how I was treated and dismissed by the shop owner. This was my first and last visit to this salon. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and care was beyond disappointing. If you want to avoid stress, wasted time, and embarrassment—do not go here.
🔥🔥 Black Owned Beauty Supply 🔥🔥 Yvonnes Beauty Supply 550 Commack Rd Unit C Deer Park, NY 11729 United States I’ve walked past this spot many times but never stepped inside—until today! I stopped by looking for lace tint and was helped by a wonderful woman named Tee. She guided me to the perfect shade, and during our conversation, I discovered that she’s actually the owner! Not only do they have great products, but they also offer services like wig installs, lashes, hair, makeup, and more. The customer service was top-notch, and I’ll definitely be back!
